Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Execute corporate health and safety programs across multiple catering units, ensuring alignment with OSHA, FAA, DOT, and company standards.
• Conduct regular audits, inspections, and compliance checks to verify adherence to safety requirements.
• Support units in implementing corrective action plans and monitor progress to closure.
• Deliver safety training programs for frontline employees, supervisors, and managers, including onboarding, refresher courses, and specialized training for high-risk tasks.
• Develop practical training materials and job aids tailored to airline catering operations (e.g., equipment handling, aircraft servicing, hazardous materials).
• Track training completion and effectiveness through reporting and follow-up.
• Lead safety-related projects such as ergonomic improvements, equipment upgrades, and hazard reduction initiatives.
• Coordinate with unit leaders to ensure timely execution of safety projects and initiatives.
• Monitor project milestones, budgets, and deliverables, escalating issues as needed.
• Support units in investigating incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate safety records and prepare reports for leadership and regulatory agencies.
• Analyze incident trends and recommend practical solutions to reduce recurrence.
• Work closely with Operations, HR, and QHSSE teams to integrate safety practices into daily workflows.
• Serve as a resource for unit safety managers and supervisors, providing guidance and hands-on support.
• Participate in customer audits and respond to safety-related inquiries.

Core Competencies and Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, or a related field. In exceptional cases, relevant and extensive work experience may substitute for the degree requirement.

Work Experience
• 3+ years of progressive experience in safety management, preferably in the aviation, logistics, or transportation industries.
• Strong experience in ramp safety, operational safety, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated success in leading safety teams & implementing safety improvement initiatives.
• Hands-on experience implementing safety programs and delivering training in an operational environment.

Technical Skills
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, FAA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements.
• OSHA 40 Hour General Industry or NSC Principles of Occupational Safety and Health completion preferred.Proficiency using safety software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with safety management systems (SMS) and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
• Practical experience with safety audits, incident investigations, & corrective action management.
