Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors the Buyers and flow of materials, food and supplies in specified quality and quantities to meet customer requirements in the HUB unit.
- Oversees and ensures the accuracy of information received from the unit, including daily inventories, invoices and physical inventories.
- Provides support to the HUB unit with regards to requisitions, usages, waste, product receipt, product storage, and any available support tools.
- Trains buyers to ensure compliance with regional and corporate purchasing programs, specifications, and other related activities for the HUB unit.
- Understands customer service manuals and other related specification sources.
- Using SAP/SACS along with customer flight schedules and “Bill of Materials” (BOM) program to determine the quantities of all customer-required food and related menu components
- Follows appropriate forecasting and analyzing procedures of load factor trends to determine appropriate quantities of required product purchases
- Assists units in generating and establishing and accurate daily requisition system which is monitored in a timely manner meeting production requirements and changes monthly
- Audits and ensures accuracy of processes including purchase requisitions, orders, and vendor invoices prior to payment thorough our A/P process
- Monitors responsible units to ensure that an accurate food and controllable inventory is kept
- Assures compliance with required corporate, local agency and federal government (FDA) guidelines for proper sanitation, food handling and temperature control (HACCP) practices
- Communicates company policies, objectives, procedures, and safety guidelines to all staff members
- Acts as a chairperson of unit SPIRIT program and participates in the corporate SPIRIT program
- Understands and insures compliance with regional and corporate programs, policies and product specifications
- Assures unit maintains and reports accurate product substitution log and insures appropriate follow up actions are pursued
- Consistently maintains a professional image in all relationships and interactions with suppliers, customers and other employees
- Audits cost breakouts to compare actual vs. theoretical food costs and communicates noted variances to appropriate parties
- Performs special projects and other duties as required
Qualifications
Education:
- High School graduate or equivalent with experience in related discipline
- College degree in related discipline preferred
Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 Years Wholesale or Multi Unit food purchasing experience required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Food safety control practices (GMP's, SOP's, and HACCP) and quality program control
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)
- Knowledge of HACCP, quality management and six sigma
- Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations
- Intermediate level Microsoft office tool skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of quality auditing, inspection methods
- Detail oriented
- Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task
- Strong interpersonal skills, interact well with multiple departments as required
- Able to work with little supervision
- General food knowledge and culinary concepts
Language / Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both written & oral
