Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operational Activities   
o Responsible for direct communications with the transportation department
o Evaluates unit fleets and writes up maintenance problems, communicates same to Unit Managers
o Completes all maintenance repairs designated to be completed in house
o Oversees the ordering of all major stock orders and assists with regular parts ordering    
o Identifies spare vehicles and coordinates the most efficient use of these vehicles
o Develops training programs for Company mechanics using vendor supplied materials and training aids
o Aids Fleet Supervisors in developing vehicle maintenance contracts and programs for non-owned garages
o Reviews and performs physical inspection of all vehicles in their assigned area
o Reviews quality of work performed by outside vendors
o Works closely with third party vendors and evaluates the quality of work performed and pricing
o Responsible to secure regulatory compliance in all maintenance facilities and maintains environmental and safe working conditions
• Administration
o Monitors and approves vendor invoices
o Provides assistance in locating hard to get parts for other units
o Assists with warranty work recovery, especially new vehicle equipment warranties and obtains maximum refunds for parts and labor costs during warranty periods
o Insures all Gate Gourmet Policies and Procedures are followed
o Insures timely and accurate reports are distributed as required
o Interviews outside mechanics for competency, quality and price for work performed
o Assists with training of company mechanics
o Identifies and tracks all costs for the area of responsibility
o Evaluates the unit to determine requirements for maintenance agreements
o Assists in the transfer of equipment between units
o Identifies high cost equipment items and assists management with budgeting on these items
o Evaluates work orders and purchases, checks quality of repairs and preventative maintenance in order to ensure that all maintenance operations are as efficient and economically operated as possible
o Authorizes all vehicle repairs over $500.00, in advance, to ensure repairs are as economical as possible
o Assists with the selling of company owned vehicles

QualificationsEducation:
• High School diploma and Vehicle/GSE school degree (required)
• Additional degrees and or experience a plus
Work Experience:
• Must have 5 years of experience working with the operations, maintenance, or administration of fleets of vehicles in a supervisory capacity
• Must have strong background in all types of vehicle maintenance
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)
• Must be able to manage large volumes of information in a fast paced environment
• Must have strong leadership skills, and the ability to successfully manage a staff of mechanics
• Must have excellent time management skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Must be proficient in the use of all standard Microsoft applications 
• Commercial Drivers License a plus
Language / Communication Skills:
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
