Job Summary:
A Warehouse attendant is responsible for loading/unloading products of varying size and weight onto/off of the company truck when needed by hand, using an electric pallet jack, or using other equipment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Checks product and associated paperwork to ensure accuracy of load and delivery, as well as inspects product for damage/quality
- Reports any damage or quality issues to the immediate supervisor
- Transfers goods between onsite warehouse facilities using the company truck
- Upon delivery to the destination, unloads, and transfers goods to the appointed storage area within the warehouse facility
- Drives and operates the company truck and all other equipment safely and in accordance with all OSHA and company rules and policies
- Maintains the cleanliness of the company truck and reports any mechanical issues/damage immediately to the direct supervisor
- Responsible for re-packing of the airline's equipment to customer specifications.
- Participates in inventory cycle counts
- Follows directions
- Work as a member of a team
- Additional duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
Work Experience:
- Up to one year of experience preferred
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses, and Registration)
- Not applicable
Language / Communication Skills:
- Must be able to read and write to complete required forms
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
Requirements of the Job:
- Work assigned schedule, which may vary and could include weekends and holidays
- Work overtime when required
- Arrive at work on time
- Must comply with company policies
- Complete paperwork and related administrative duties
Work Environment
Handles pork, poultry, meat, and fish products
Must be able to handle liquor/alcoholic beverages
Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment, and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds frequently during shift.
May work in a cold room of 40 degrees or less for extended periods of time.
Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours.
